Ecuador, Northern Manabi Province. Ca 500BC-AD500. Height 18-1/2". This tall and unusual sitting female figure, holding pestle and small mortar. The facial features, the personal adornments and the pose is typical of the Bahia figures, but the particular use of post-firing blue paint color is strictly Jama-Coaque.
