6152 Kiowa Awl Case c. 19th century Fully beaded hide with the body of the case beaded on one side in a background of aquamarine with diamonds of cobalt and squares of apple green all outlined in white and on the verso the same patterns on an iridescent red background. The cap is beaded in rows of white, dark blue and greasy yellow with short, yellow ochre rubbed hide dangles with metal cones and four 3" long metal tubes on twisted yellow ochre rubbed hide with silver buttons, mescal beans and pale yellow faceted glass beads on the ends. At the top of the cap are hide thongs with brass beads, tube and shell beads. At the end of the case is the twisted hide dangles with six of the 3" metal tubes.18" long including dangles. $6,000.00 |
