Matched Pair of Sioux Possible Bags #10032
Possible or Tipi Bags were used by the Plains Indians to transport personal items while crossing the Great Plains. They were also used within the tipi. Made of brain tanned deerskin these bags are heavily beaded with seed beads and are decorated with tin cones and horsehair.

An early Cheyenne Blanket Strip on a Pre-Hudson's Bay Company style blanket..This English wool blanket is edge trimmed in red cotton and red silk, which denotes Osage ownership. The large Cheyenne Blanket strip dates to the 1850-70's. White seed beads, deep blue, deep red and medium blue beads are used in a early and simple arrangement.
Has been in the same collection for the last 30 years.
